BAKER NEIGHBORHOOD
The Baker neighborhood is one of Denver’s oldest, with its residential development dating back to the 1880s. Baker received the historic district designation on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and became a Historic District of Denver in 2000. Baker homes for sale primarily consist of Victorian styles and feature the largest collection of Queen Annes in Denver, interspersed with a variety of funky bungalows, contemporary townhomes, and newer condo complexes.
Baker real estate is just a quick walk to South Broadway’s vibrant shopping and restaurant district, which contains the historic Mayan Theatre, which shows independent films and offers adult beverages, Hope Tank, which sells whimsical gifts and art from which a portion of proceeds all go back to local nonprofits, Sol Tribe, one of Denver’s best tattoo shops, and the Punch Bowl Social – a spot where you can get drinks and food, while playing ping pong or bowling. You can grab ice cream from Sweet Action, before shopping at SoBo’s many thrift stores.
The Baker district is also great for live music in Denver, being close to several music venues, such as the Hi-Dive, Skylark Lounge, Syntax: Physic Opera, and Herman’s Hideaway. Home to artists and professionals, young families and hip singles alike, the eclectic Baker neighborhood is bounded by Broadway, Mississippi, 6th Avenue, and the South Platte River. Baker is centrally located, with a short trip to Downtown Denver and convenient access to I-25. Baker residents are also minutes away from Wash Park, the Denver Art Museum, and the Santa Fe Art District, which hosts the First Friday Art Walk each month.
