FIVE POINTS – CURTIS PARK

Founded in the 1860s as one of Denver’s first suburbs, the Five Points neighborhood hosts a busy retail, restaurant, and services corridor and is bounded by Park Avenue, Downing Street, Arapahoe Street, and 20th Avenue, just east of Downtown Denver. Five Points homes for sale offer a variety of renovated and not-yet-renovated Victorian homes in all shapes and sizes, interspersed with a blend of newly-constructed contemporary townhomes and condos.

One of Denver’s most important historic neighborhoods, Five Points real estate is highly-walkable and eclectic, adjacent to Downtown Denver, and includes the quickly evolving RiNo district, (short for River North Art District,) where you will find countless art galleries and restaurants amongst the largest collection of street art in Denver. The Curtis Park historic district is another enclave within the Five Points boundaries, with the namesake park in the heart of the neighborhood, offering both green space and a public pool. Curtis Park homes for sale include stately Victorian mansions, alongside contemporary townhomes, and shares the ease of visiting all the amenities found in RiNo.

Five Points was once referred to as “The Harlem of the West” and has a rich jazz history, with over 50 bars and clubs once lining the Welton Street Corridor where legends such as Billie Holliday, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, and Dizzy Gillespie once played. The Black American West Museum is also in Five Points, located inside the former home of Colorado’s first black female doctor, Dr. Justina Ford. Five Points was also a central location of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, where he visited The Casino Cabaret, which is now Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, a popular music venue. Our favorite spots in Five Points include the Curtis Club, Voila Salon Spa Parfumerie, Coffee at the Point, the Crossroads Theater, Work & Class, Green Spaces Co-Working Space, DaDa Art Bar, and The Populist.
