DOWNTOWN DENVER NEIGHBORHOOD
Downtown Denver blends business, arts, entertainment, recreation, dining, and shopping in the area bounded by Broadway, Colfax, Speer, Larimer, and Park Avenue. Museums, the Denver theatre district, sports, and concerts are all within walking distance, as is the Auraria Campus, which houses the University of Colorado at Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the Community College of Denver. As the hub of Denver’s public transportation system, it is easily possible to live here without a car, although Downtown Denver offers easy access to all major highways.
Downtown Denver real estate includes many historic industrial lofts for sale, which until recently, were primarily located in the Lower Downtown (LoDo) area. Over the past few years, real estate in the Denver Central Business District, which encompasses the upper end of downtown, has seen quite a bit of residential growth and historic property renovations, such as the Denver Dry Lofts, the Baldwin Lofts, the A.T. Lewis and Rio Grande Lofts, the Boston Lofts, and the Bank Lofts. Residential growth through the Central Business District has also brought forth a variety of condos for sale in luxury high-rise buildings, such as the Spire, the Four Seasons Residences, and One Lincoln Park, which offer spectacular views and amenities.
Through the heart of the Central Business District lies the 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian mall lined with shopping, dining, pianos, and a free shuttle that runs throughout the day. The 16th Street Mall features the Denver Pavilions at one end, containing more than 50 shops, restaurants, bars, a jazz club, bowling alley, and movie theater. At the other end lies Skyline Park, which hosts numerous events throughout the year, including games, ice skating, culinary markets, concerts, movies, a pop-up dog park, and a pop-up beer garden.
